Autauga Metro Jail gets new full body scanner

The sheriff's office bought the full-body scanner for the jail. Inmates will be scanned by the machine as part of the intake process. It's needed for safety, said Jail Warden Larry Nixon.

Incoming inmates are patted down and then strip-searched as part of the process before they are placed in the cells. It's not uncommon for people to attempt to hide contraband on or in their person, Nixon said.

ADANI CONPASS DV is a unique solution made to detect wide range of prohibited and dangerous items like knives, guns, explosives, drugs.
